Scope and process

Engineering workflow for collet fixtures at Dahegam, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India: 3D CAD modeling of part workholding envelope → FEA clamping force and deflection analysis → CNC machining of hardened baseplates and locator nests → grinding of locating dowels and wear pads → laser CMM verification of critical datum points.

Materials we work with

Hardened collet seat and drawbar interface, with the taper ground after heat treatment so grip stays concentric through the wear life. Body material is chosen for the duty — tool steel where wear or heat is the issue, aluminium where the fixture must be lifted by hand.

Tooling support

Locates on an outside or inside diameter through a tapered collet, giving 360° contact instead of point clamping.

Choosing the right option

When requesting a proposal for collet fixtures, please provide component 3D CAD models (STEP/IGES), 2D part drawings indicating critical datums, machine table specifications (T-slot pitch, pallet size), and target cycle time. Quotes with 3D concept layouts are issued within 24 hours.

Quality checks and inspection

On a fixture the check that matters is concentricity of the collet bore to the mounting spigot, and repeat grip on a master ring. Dimensions are verified on CMM against the fixture drawing before despatch.

Commissioning and handover

Handed over with a proving part run on your machine, so grip and runout are demonstrated on the actual spindle rather than on a bench.

Export packing and lead time

Ships assembled in a fitted case with the collet or mandrel set, so nothing is mis-paired on arrival. HEMSUN is a DGFT IEC registered exporter (Government of India); commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin accompany international despatch.

Maintenance and spare parts

The gripping element is the wear part; keep a spare set and change it when repeat grip drifts rather than when it visibly wears.
